Word of the Day

Schnee. It means snow.

Lousy day here today. I know it doesn't compare to Minnesota, and I'm a Minnesotan tried and true so I won't complain too much, but it was still a lousy day. I had soup for lunch, though, after being outside for an hour, which really hit the spot. It was a salty broth with chunks of cauliflower, and this weird stuff that looked like slightly orange cheese and with the consistency of tofu, but which was actually egg cut into pieces with sharp edges. Not sure how they did that, but it was tasty.

Not too much else to report. I have bronchitis, although am feeling better today, and the sun still has not come out. I hear November is the worst month here, though, so I still have hope.

Sorry to hear the weather turned cold there. Hang in there...

The Eggs are called Eierstich,... and this is how you make it:

Take 4 eggs
from 2 eggs just the yolk
1/4 cup milk
a bit salt and pepper
and a bit muscat
mix it all up
put it in a buttered form ( whatever you use )

put that form in water and heat it up for like 20 minutes, till its kinda hard ( it looks like cheese )

cut it in small dices and put it after its cold in the soup

here a pic: http://www.huettenhilfe.de/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/eierstich.jpg
