The sun is out today!!! Seriously, it's notable. Even the wildlife seems to appreciate it. The little birds are chirping away, and Aengus and I saw a ton of pheasants on our walk today. He also found a couple deer to chase, which I'm sure the farmers, who are all of course also hunters, loved.
And, in keeping with the harmony of the day, we also heard machine gun fire from the nearby military training ground. It is an odd place, really. It was an airfield during WWII, and I think Messerschmitts (the first jet powered fighter planes) were first tested there. Now it is used as a training ground for I think the German and Dutch military, although when they're not practicing, it is an off leash dog park. Strange, indeed. I have only been there once, but saw spent machine gun cartridges on one of the fields, about six burned out cars, presumably used for target practice, and two of those plastic human target things with bullet holes right through where the heart would be. It has an interesting vibe, to say the least.
Anyway, the sun is out! I'm off to enjoy it...

Nothing like a few souveniers from the dog park.
Germany is weird.
